I don't care what "beastcub" may be confused for

i decided i like the name and too many people know me by it now to change it. it would be like how KFC tried to change the meaning from Kentucky Fried Chicken to Kitchen Fresh Chicken, it just does not stick and confuses people

to me this is what Beastcub means, this is my character Beastcub
I had this name attached to me LONG before i had even heard of furries, i loved the name because it was related to my book and this character (found as an orphan, never gave her real name, so they called her Beast Cub, which is like calling her Young Lady whereas just cub is like calling her kid, and the name stayed with her as an adult.)
plus i thought it was cute and easy to remember (especially compared to my real name, which 80% of people either cannot spell or pronounce right...or both).
the word beast has a strong meaning to me haven grown up with Beauty and the Beast plus the word to me is magestic and a neat antiquated word that i love. and to me when i hear the word cub i think of tiger cubs, lion cubs, as in felines and i LOVE cats.

so yeah, i like the name.

You shouldn't have to change your name because of the fandom. Heck I know of a suiter I met at MFF who's name is wolfcub who isn't at all a baby fur. It was a nick name his parents gave him as a child, and it just stuck with him thru out the years.

So yea. Its your name, you shouldn't have to change it. Especially since so many people know you by that, and those who do know you, know damn well that you aren't a cub! So keep it!

I go by the nick Wolfcub and have had it before Furry was even know. I am not a babyfur and everytime I go to a con I get asked at least twice are you "squiggles" Wolfcub and I have to explain I am not a babyfur and I got the nick probably when that fur was in real diapers and cutting their first tooth. I say Keep your nick and tell the others if they have a problem with it to get bent.
Era if you met that Wolfcub at any MFF it was probaly me btw since I always use that name for my badge :) I didn't get the nick by my parents btw I got from a friend that was a psychologist over 20 years ago. I used to go by the Handle "Thumper" on a CB lol he said my personality was more of a wolf or tiger cub and I have smoke gray eyes like a baby wolf. Hugz and smiles.

bows and smiles :)NP I actually find it funny sometimes when people ask where squiggles ? is.... I wanted to use the name Wolfcub here on LJ but that person took the name and never uses it. I love my nick of Wolfcub and refuse to give it up even if I live to be 80 I will be proud of that name because of the reasons I have said before and the connection have with my friend over it. Hugz!

Why I just adore the name, me-self: sounds not like someone who IS a cub necessarily, but rather someone who was singled out as a cub, to live not as other cubs when grown...but rather, to reign as a BEAST among cubs. You see, it's a designation worthy of a snappy Tolkienesque storyline! With a bit of Redwall thrown in...

The first time I saw your name, nothing negative crossed my mind. I thought it was unique, and it made me think of the jungle book. I like it!
SOME people will take EVERYTHING in a perverted manner, you can't let them bother you.

ya that happens a lot, it ticks me off that people would even dress up as an animal and make porn, that's like so much dishonor to the animal itself.... if your gonna do that keep it to yourself.

But yeah I feel your pain there!

I never once thought of your name as being tied to something icky. I'm saddened that others would think so.
